CHILE DEFEATS EL SALVADOR 3-0, LOOKS FOR FIFTH PLACE

Despite the loss,  El Salvador had a good
performance in this match.

TIJUANA, Mexico, July 7 2011.— Chile defeated El Salvador 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-20) and will try to finish fifth in the Girls U18 Pan American Cup.

The Salvadorean team played its best set of the tournament on the first when it was close to win it with a great performance by Andrea Manzur, who tallied 14 points, while Chile’s Catalina Pulgar and Catalina Meneses scored 14, apiece.

“I think We improved a lot, We applied our reception and attack. It was much better than the previous matches, but lost concentration”, said Manzur.

For coach Sady López, El Salvador showed a great teamwork performance, despite the loss. 

“This was an interesting match with a good effort by the girls, and I think this experience is going to help us for the Youth Central American championships that will be played in Costa Rica”, he stated.

For Chilean coach Italo Raggio the goals and mission planned prior to the participation in Mexico is almost accomplished. 

“We will finished with six International matches, the most played by our team at this time. We are looking forward to get the fifth place in our next match”, he concluded.
